Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

Registration

  • A woman from a family below the poverty line(BPL) can apply for a new LPG connection. The prescribed application form should be duly filled and submitted to the nearest LPG Dealer.
  • Once the application is processed, the concerned party will receive the connection from OMCs. If EMI is opted for, the adjustment will be made of the EMI amount against the subsidy due to the beneficiary during refills.

Objective Behind Launching

Pradhan MantriUjjwalaYojna or PMUY was announced and is applicable from the 1st of May,2016 by PrimeMinister Narendra Modi to provide clean cooking fuel to about 10 Crore households in India who still have to rely on fossil fuels such as coal, firewood, etc. Additionally, this aims to provide relief from hazardous respiratory diseases that women and children have to face as a result of inhaling such fuels and boost the “Make in India” campaign as most of the manufacturers of regulators, cylinders, gas stoves, etc. are domestic.

Documents Required

  • Complete address, Jandhan Bank account number, and Aadhar number of each applicant’s family members are required to be submitted.
  • The form can be downloaded from the official site, i.e., pmujjwalayojana.com.

Pradhan MantriMatruVandanaYojana(PMMVY)

Registration

  • Application form 1-A can be collected from an Anganwadi center or approved health facility, free of cost, and has to be duly filled and signed by the pregnant woman and her husband and submitted with the required documents.
  • Within 150 Days of applying, the woman can get registered under this scheme by visiting the mentioned above.
  • The money is disbursed in 3 installments. First during registration, second after 180 days post the first ANC, and third post-delivery after registering the childbirth and OPV, DPT, and BCG vaccination.

Objective behind launching  

The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide a cash incentive to pregnant and lactating mothers who are cash-strapped and lose wages. Furthermore, it aims to reduce the child mortality rate by improving the mother’s health.

Benefits 

The beneficiary gets a cash incentive of Rs 5000(1000,2000,2000) under this scheme and additionally will receive an incentive under the Janani Suraksha Yojana, making it a total incentive of Rs 6000.

Eligibility criteria

  • All first-time pregnant and lactating women who got pregnant on or after 1.1.17, except those employed under State or Central Government or PSUs. 
  • The Mother-Child Protection card must provide the woman’s Last Menstrual Period details based on which the date and stage of pregnancy will be ascertained.

Cyber Safe Initiative

Objective behind launching

Launched by the Maharashtra Government on 3rd  Jan 2020, this initiative aims to educate the masses about cybercrimes, especially the ones targeted against women and children like child pornography, phishing attacks, cyberbullying, bank frauds, online gaming, photo shuffling, etc. The implementation will be done across the state in collaboration with the cyber cell, state police, NGOs, and the public relations department.

Advantages

  • Helping to raise awareness among women about antisocial elements and crimes committed against children on the web.
  • The campaign marks the birth anniversary of a social reformer, SavitribaiPhule.

Other measures

 One of the other measures taken by the Central Government to prevent and curb the atrocities committed against women and children is the formation of a handle on the social media site; Twitter named “Cyber Dost.” The Ministry of Home Affairs runs it, and there are frequent posts on raising awareness and handling issues relating to cybercrimes.

A new scheme called the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children Scheme was spearheaded by the Home Affairs Ministry to allocate Rs 223.198 crores. This scheme aims to encourage women and children to report the cybercrimes witnessed and the redressal of the same. It also does research and development activities and provides a public platform for victims of cyber abuse.
