Intraday means ‘within the day’ and in stock markets, it is another term used for ‘Intraday trading’, which means trading securities during regular business hours. These securities might include stocks, commodities, currencies, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) etc. Intraday means buying and selling on the same day and this can be done easily using online trading platforms. The purpose of intraday trading is to make money through the movement of market indices or stock prices. It is also referred to as ‘day trading’. Intraday or Intraday trading doesn’t involve taking delivery or owning the stocks, but its only purpose is to benefit from the price movements.
