BSE or Bombay Stock Exchange is the oldest stock exchange in India. It started small as ‘The Native Share and Stock brokers’ Association’ in the year 1875 and is today counted amongst the largest stock exchanges in the world. BSE is a pioneer in Indian capital markets and has been instrumental in establishing an efficient and transparent market for equities, debt instruments, currencies, derivatives, mutual funds and ETFs. BSE is completely electronic and trades are carried out online. General trading in BSE is carried out through brokers. The S&P BSE Sensex is BSE’s primary benchmark comprising India’s top 30 companies and is one of the most widely tracked index.
