The last sale price means the last recorded or calculated closing price of a security. It might be equal to the last board lot sale price of the said security on the stock exchange during the regular trading session. For a market-on-close (MOC) order, which means a non – limit market order and is executed very near to the closing price, is the available last sale price. The purpose of a MOC order, in fact, is to get the last available price of that trading day. It is important to note that MOC orders are not available in all markets or from all brokers.
