Market Snapshot
Indian equity indices ended flat in a muted session on F&O expiry day.
Markets opened marginally higher on the back of mixed global cues but traded within a range throughout the session.
Sectoral performance: Selling pressure was seen across most sectors, except for metal and banking stocks, which remained resilient.
NBFC stocks rallied after the RBI relaxed risk weights on bank lending to the sector.
The central bank lowered the risk weight on bank loans to NBFCs from 125% to 100%, effective April 1, 2025.
This decision reverses the tightening measure imposed in November 2023, which had previously increased capital requirements for banks lending to NBFCs.
