Rashtriya Gokul Mission

 As you all know, different types of schemes are run by the government to protect and develop the breed of cows. Various types of economic and social assistance are provided through these schemes. Recently the Rashtriya Gokul Mission was launched by the government. Through this mission, the conservation of cows and the development of breeds will be encouraged through scientific methods. 

Rashtriya Gokul Mission was launched by Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on 28 July 2014. Through this scheme, the government wants to encourage the conservation of indigenous cows and the development of breeding using scientific methods. In 2014, around Rs, 2025 crore was allocated to implement this scheme. In the year 2019, the budget of this scheme was increased from ₹ 750 crores. Through this mission, a breed improvement program will be organized to improve the genetic composition of indigenous milch animals. Due to this, the number of animals will also increase. Apart from this, various efforts will also be made to increase milk production and productivity.

Through Rashtriya Gokul Mission 2022, the income of the livestock farmers of the country will increase. Apart from this, the government will promote animal husbandry through this mission. In addition, this scheme will provide information to the farmers about improving the quality of milk production and increasing it scientifically.

The objective of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission

The main objective of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission is to improve the breed of indigenous bovine animals. Apart from this, proper protection and increase of milk production capacity and quality are improved. A breed improvement program will be organized to improve the genetic structure through this Rashtriya Gokul Mission to increase the number of milch animals. Through this scheme, other breeds of cows will be developed using high-quality indigenous species like Lal Sindh, Gir, Tharparkar, Sahiwal, etc. Quality, artificial insemination facilities will be made available to the milch animals of the farmers at their homes. Apart from this, the distribution of bulls with genetic merit will be done under this mission.

Provision of rewards under Rashtriya Gokul Mission

-A provision of rewards has also been kept under this mission.

-So that the country can attract farmers towards animal husbandry.

-This award will be given by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

-Gopal Ratan Award will be given to the first and second place citizens, and Kamdhenu Award will be given to the third place holder.

-Apart from this, the Gopal Ratna award will be given to cattle rearers who have better protection of indigenous breeds of bovine animals.

-Kamdhenu Award will be given to Gaushalas and best-managed breed societies.

-So far, 22 Gopal Ratna and 21 Kamdhenu Awards have been given under this scheme.

Financial assistance to be provided through Rashtriya Gokul Mission

-Initially, Rs 2025 crore was allocated for the operation of this scheme.

-An amount of about Rs 1842.76 crore has been spent until 2020.

-This scheme is being operated in all the states of the country.

-According to the media, till the year 2020, Rs 1842.76 crore is spent for the operation of this scheme.

Benefits and Features of Rashtriya Gokul Mission

Eligibility for Rashtriya Gokul Mission

-The applicant must be a resident of India.

-To get the benefit of this scheme, the applicant’s age should be 18 years or more.

-Only small farmers and livestock farmers can apply under this scheme.

Procedure to apply under Rashtriya Gokul Mission

-First, you have to go to the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department.

-Now you have to get the application form from there.

-After this, you have to enter all the essential information in the application form, such as your name, mobile number, email id, etc.

-Now you have to attach all the essential documents.

-After this, you will have to submit the application form to the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department.

-In this way, you will be able to apply under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
