Trivendra Singh Rawat, the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana in Dehradun on March 13, 2020. Alongside children aged between 3 to 6 years who currently receive milk under the Mukhya Mantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana, the state government led by Sh. Pushkar Singh Dhami now will offer healthy milk every once a week to children in classes 1 to 8 through the Mid Day Meal Scheme. Milk is given to about 1,72,000 children in Anganwadi schools four times a week. According to this, Yojna milk will now be delivered once a week to 6,90,000 youngsters from 17,045 schools.
The Mukhya Mantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana was launched to promote children’s nutrition and health. Children aged 3 to 6 years should provide 100 mL of sweetened fortified milk containing vitamin A and D four times a week at all Anganwadi locations under this plan. The Uttarakhand budget has allocated Rs. 13 crores for the Anchal Amrit Yojana 2022.
The Aanchal Amrit Yojna project would provide sufficient nourishment to children, hence reducing the threat of malnutrition. There are around 20,000 Anganwadi Kendra in Uttarakhand, where children are fed flavored, sweetened, and skimmed milk powder. In the region of Uttarakhand, children between the ages of 3 to 6 receive free milk as part of the Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana. This healthy milk will now be available to kids in grades 1 through 8.
The following are the key characteristics and benefits of Uttarakhand’s Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana:
According to the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Development, this plan is a significant step toward combating malnutrition in the state. The necessity to create the Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana was realized since there are 18,000 malnourished children in the state.
According to the CM’s official statement, “roughly seven lakh+ youngsters are learning in Anganwadi Kendras / Govt. Schools.” Because most of these youngsters originate from low-income families and lack sufficient nutrition, the government will now give them free milk. Moreover, because milk is a high-quality nutrition source, the government will supply nutritious milk to their youngsters once a week.”
