Trading Session

A trading session is simply the time period in which a market is open for transactions. It is the normal period of time during which trading of securities is carried out by buyers or sellers. It is also known as a ‘market session’ when the financial market is open for normal business. The timing of markets can be different for different countries.

What are the trading session timings in India?

In India, the normal trading session for Stock Exchanges is from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM. Generally, markets are open for trading during weekdays that is Monday – Friday. There are no trading sessions on Saturdays or Sundays and on other scheduled holidays.
