Sales or Repurchase/Redemption Price

The price or Net Asset Value a unitholder is charged while investing in an open-ended scheme of a mutual fund is called sales price. It is the price at which one unit of a mutual fund is ‘sold’ to the investor. An investor can buy units of an open ended mutual fund anytime at its prevailing NAV. This is the price at which the mutual fund is offering its units to investors and thus is known as the Sales price.

Repurchase or redemption price is the price or Net Asset Value at which an open-ended scheme purchases or redeems its units from the unitholders. It may include exit load, if applicable. It is a price at which a scheme ‘buys’ its units back from the investor and is thus known as ‘repurchase price’ or ‘redemption price’.
