Registrar is one of the many are a crucial intermediaries in an IPO issue.

A Registrar of an IPO is the processing entity for the IPO. They are appointed by a company seeking to raise funds through IPO and are independent financial institutions that are registered with the SEBI as well as stock exchanges. Some of the responsibilities of the registrar include:

a. Processing IPO applications
b. Keeping a record of the money received from investors
c. Allocation of shares to notified applicants as per SEBI guidelines
d. Issuing refunds post allotment through ECS or cheque transfer
e. Dispatching allotment letters to investors
f. Allotment of allocated shares to the Demat account of investors
