Real Time Quotes

As the name suggests, Real Time Quote means the price of a security at a given moment, that is, its instantaneous price, at which it is trading at a particular time on the Stock Exchange. Large brokerages would charge fees for providing Real Time Quoutes earlier, but it is a standard feature now. Real Time Quote is very important for large traders, who track and trade with high volumes as well as on small price momentums. In a fast moving market, a delayed quote is not of much use. Some brokerages show price quotes which are not real time but come with a delay, known as delayed quotes. These do not impact long term investors or general market observers, but can prove to be very expensive for traders.
