A flying plateau is a technical trend line pattern that forms after a stock has moved up with a good build up and momentum. Such strong stocks will strengthen and consolidate the upward move in a flat/sideways pattern in a range rather than pulling back. The pattern thus formed is very bullish and more so, if it is formed on not very high volumes. This can be thought of as a 45 degree rise in the price of a stock. It might move sideways for some sessions and stay there for a few trading sessions and then result in another strong upwards movement.
