Filing

In the context of an IPO, Filing refers to submitting all the necessary documents related to the IPO such as, pre-filing documents, Red Herring Prospectus etc with SEBI. As per the latest updates, SEBI requires the issuer company to pe-file confidential papers relating to the price mechanism of past issues, funds raised previously and any other necessary information.

Why is Filing important

Appropriate filing before an IPO helps regulators and potential investors get complete knowledge abouut the IPO. Only once a company files the necessary documents, it can get approval from SEBI for going ahead with the IPO.
