Brokerage refers to the charges levied by brokers for crying out various functions like buying and selling securities, and trading in various segments like Futures and Options, currency, commodities, etc.

How is brokerage calculated?

These brokerage charges are usually levied as a percentage of the trade or on a flat rate basis depending on the policies of the broker.

Brokerage charges are one of the many factors considered while selecting a broker along with other factors like ease of trade, accessibility of trading and investing portal, available securities for investment, etc.
